PUNK’S NOT DEAD

  Back in 1992, when Frank and J.P, tired of wasting time in several bands with no future, gathered their forces to create a Skatecore-Punked-Rock lunatic tribe called BRAIN DAMAGE. Very soon, Michel (guitar) and Kevin (drums) joined the band and the first covers (MOTORHEAD, METALLICA, D.R.I, SEX PISTOLS) could be done.

  A couple of months later, Nico (RAMONES maniac drummer) took the place of Kevin and Fred became the singer. The band was finally ready to play in pubs and that’s what they’ve done very fast, and soon they began to be known as the most powerful, noisy (but always having a lot of fun) punk band in the area.

  The "bad" reputation of party guys closed a lot of doors and the leaves of Fred put on the brakes to the progress but stopped nothing : Michel became the singer and it’s only at this moment that the first real BRAIN DAMAGE songs were written. The influences of 80’s and 90’s Punk-Rock combos (just influences!) like BAD RELIGION, NOFX, THE VANDALS or THE OFFSPRING mixed with the fury inspired by some good old guys like THE DEAD KENEDYS, THE SEX PISTOLS, THE MISFITS, THE STOOGES, and of course THE RAMONES (lots of covers were done of those bands) were really present in almost every songs.

  Lots of contacts were taken and all of this could be seen and on stage, with many open-air festivals (kind of 3 to 4000 peoples at each) and heard on records.

  It’s in November '98 that the first CD was out. "MERCI LA VIE", totally autoproducted, is the first visit card of the band. Many contacts all over the world (labels for compilation and fanzines, in Europe and U.S) have been taken since that 16 tracks hot shot was out.

  In 2000, Franck decided to leave the band and has been immediately replaced by Havel, BRAIN DAMAGE friend and fan.  And actually, BRAIN DAMAGE is working on the recording of 11 new songs; some tinged with SkaPunk or more exotic style!!

No doubt that 2002 will be BRAIN DAMAGE year!!!!!
